{"id":10101,"date":"2019-04-18T00:52:10","date_gmt":"2019-04-18T03:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=10101"},"modified":"2019-04-18T00:52:10","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T03:52:10","slug":"beaver-bank-among-electoral-boundary-recommended-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=10101","title":{"rendered":"Beaver Bank among electoral boundary recommended changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>BEAVER BANK:<\/strong> The community of Beaver Bank will be \nmoved into one riding, joining fully with Waverley-Fall River-Beaver \nBank, under recommended electoral boundary changes made by the Electoral\n Boundary Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The change was among a few the commission recommended in their report, released on April 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\n it\u2019s recommendation, it moves Mount Uniacke and South Uniacke from \nHants East to the Sackville-Beaver Bank . The district name also \nchanges; it will now be known as Sackville-Uniacke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The change for this riding\u2014for provincial boundaries only\u2014affects 1,550 registered electors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For\n Beaver Bank, they get what many have said they wanted\u2014to be in one \ndistrict as a whole. Previously portions were in Waverley-Fall \nRiver-Beaver Bank, while up to Majestic was in the Sackville-Beaver Bank\n riding meaning they had two MLAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This change affects about 1,990 registered electors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In  the Sackville-Cobequid riding, the community of Lakeview was moved from  it to Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank.
