{"id":10242,"date":"2019-05-04T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2019-05-04T15:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=10242"},"modified":"2019-05-04T12:00:50","modified_gmt":"2019-05-04T15:00:50","slug":"fall-rivers-deveau-continues-success-on-the-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=10242","title":{"rendered":"Fall River&#8217;s Deveau continues success on the track"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>AMHERST, MASS.: <\/strong>A\n local track-and-field athlete continues to set personal records south \nof the border in her final season of competition with UMass Minutewomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bridget\n Deveau, a Lockview High alum from Fall River, broke her own school \nrecord in heptathlon at the Virginia Challenge last month, while junior \nteammate Jada Harris improved her 100 meter hurdles and high jump \npersonal bests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minutewomen also sent individuals to Princeton\n and Holy Cross , as well, competing at the Larry Ellis Invitational and\n the Holy Cross Invitational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deveau won the final two events of \nheptathlon and finished in third with a score of 5,324 points, improving\n upon her previous record of 5,048 set in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was fourth in long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 10.75 inches to collect 777 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deveau\n then closed out the competition by winning javelin (132 feet, 2 inches,\n 637 points) and 800 meter run (2:15.34, 888 points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the \nUniversity of New Hampshire pre-conference meet on April 27, Deveau \nhelped lead UMass\u2019s track and field team to the win with 153 points, \ntops among the six-team field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UMass collected big points in 400 meter hurdles, taking four of the six scoring spots.
