{"id":10335,"date":"2019-05-21T23:09:17","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T02:09:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=10335"},"modified":"2019-05-21T23:09:17","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T02:09:17","slug":"wellington-motorcyclist-facing-impaired-driving-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=10335","title":{"rendered":"Wellington motorcyclist facing impaired driving charges"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ENFIELD: <\/strong>A 46-year-old Wellington man faces impaired driving charges after he was involved in a collision while riding a motorcycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> At approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 12, Halifax District RCMP, with   assistance from Enfield RCMP, responded to a two vehicle collision   involving a motorcycle and a van on Hwy 2 near Oldham Rd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> When members arrived on scene, they noticed signs of impairment in the   motorcycle rider\u00a0and administered an Approved Screening Device roadside   to test his breath for alcohol.\u00a0He\u00a0failed the test, was arrested and  taken to Enfield RCMP Detachment for breath testing by an Approved  Instrument. His blood alcohol level was found to be twice  the legal  limit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n The 46-year-old man from Wellington is facing the charges of  \nImpaired&nbsp;Driving by Alcohol and Impaired&nbsp;Driving with a Blood Alcohol  \nConcentration that is Equal to or Exceeds 80 mg %. He is scheduled to  \nappear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 19&nbsp;at 09:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> No one was injured&nbsp;in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n Driving impaired by drug or alcohol&nbsp;increases the risk of death and  \nserious injury to everyone on the road. We all have a responsibility to \n drive safely.
