{"id":12170,"date":"2019-08-14T17:14:08","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T20:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=12170"},"modified":"2019-08-14T17:14:08","modified_gmt":"2019-08-14T20:14:08","slug":"fall-river-man-charged-with-stunting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=12170","title":{"rendered":"Fall River man charged with stunting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> A 21-year-old Fall River man&#8217;s need\n for speed has him in trouble with the law after being clocked going 164\n kilometres\/hour in a 100 km\/h zone on Aug. 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax District \nRCMP say a officer was conducting regular patrols on Hwy. 102 near Lower\n Sackville just before 11 p.m. when they noted a vehicle travelling at a\n high rate of speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The RADAR was activated and the driver&#8217;s \nspeed was noted to be 164 km\/hr in a 100 km\/hr zone, 64 km\/hr over the \nposted speed limit,&#8221; said Cpl. Lisa Croteau, spokeswoman for Halifax District RCMP. &#8220;The police officer stopped the vehicle, and charged the driver for stunting.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle was seized and towed, and the driver&#8217;s licence was suspended for seven days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50. Nova Scotia RCMP want to\n remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious \ninjury and fatal collisions on our roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Road Safety is a \npriority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their \npriority as well.
