GOFFS:<\/strong>\n Eight impaired drivers were stopped by RCMP and Southeast Traffic \nServices during traffic stops over the Aug. 16 to 19 weekend in HRM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\n Aug. 16, at 7: 20 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 102 in \nGoffs. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Lakeside, was issued a \nseven-day suspension following a roadside screening device test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\n same evening at 8:50 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Glenmore \nRd. in Middle Musquodoboit. The driver, a 25-year-old man from \nBrookvale, was issued a seven-day suspension following a roadside \nscreening device test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Aug. 17, at 12:30 a.m., RCMP checked a \nvehicle during a checkpoint near Hwy. 102 in Bedford. Investigation at \nthe scene resulted in the driver, a 40-year-old woman from Lower \nSackville, being arrested for impaired driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been \ncharged with impaired operation (by alcohol) of a conveyance and \nimpaired operation (by alcohol) of a conveyance with a blood alcohol \nconcentration equal to or exceeding 80mg% and is scheduled to appear in \nDartmouth provincial court on Nov. 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 1 a.m. on Aug. 17, RCMP \nchecked a vehicle during a checkpoint near Hwy. 102 in Bedford. The \ndriver, a 28-year-old woman from Upper Hammonds Plains, was issued a \nseven-day suspension following a roadside screening device test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\n Aug. 18 at 2:20 a.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 7 in \nWestphal. The driver, a 21-year-old man from Lawrencetown, was issued a \nseven-day suspension following a roadside screening device test and \nbreath samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 18, a 43-year-old man from \nTexas was arrested for impaired driving following a traffic stop by RCMP\n on Hwy 102 in Goffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigation at the scene resulted in the \ndriver, a 43-year-old from Texas, being arrested for impaired driving. \nHe has been charged with impaired operation (by alcohol) of a conveyance\n and impaired operation (by alcohol) of a conveyance with a blood \nalcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80mg%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He appeared in Dartmouth provincial court on Aug. 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At\n 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 18, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Portland St. in \nDartmouth. The driver, a 35-year-old man from Colby Village, was issued a\n seven-day suspension following a roadside screening device test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\n Aug. 19 at 1 a.m., RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Cow \nBay Rd. in Cow Bay. The driver, a 21-year-old man from Dartmouth, was \nissued a seven-day suspension following a roadside screening device \ntest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
