WAVERLEY: <\/strong>The fun is about to begin in Waverley at the annual Gold Rush Days festival, scheduled for Sept. 4-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n festival organizers are fine tuning their schedule for the five day \nevent, which will include fireworks on Sept. 7 over the community (as \nlong as the provincial burn ban remains off).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This years festival will start with a Crib tournament on Sept. 4 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Waverley Legion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\n Sept. 5 a kids dance will be held for those in Grade Primary to Grade 6\n from 6-7 p.m. at the Waverley Legion. Admission is $2 each. Wing night \nwill occur 5-7:30 p.m. also at the Legion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Klondike Night will \ntake place Sept. 6 from 8-1 a.m. at Station 41 Waverley Fire Hall. It is\n for those 19-plus. Admission is $15 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, from 5-7 p.m. a Homemade Baked bean supper will take place at the Legion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sept. 7, things kick into high gear with the Waverley Historic Walk from 11-2 p.m., beginning at 2463 Rocky Lake Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chicken burgers will be sold from 11-2 at the Heritage Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family\n Fun on the Village Green with Bouncy castles and much more runs from \n11-3 p.m., with Mad Science from 1-3 at Station 41 Waverley Fire hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supper\n on the green begins at 5 p.m., with the concert on the green and \nfireworks running from 5-9 p.m. Dwight D\u2019Eon and Adam Driscoll along \nwith The Plugs will be your performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday Sept. 8 includes the Pancake Breakfast from 8-011:30 a.m. at Station 41 Waverley fire hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n Gold Rush youth race at McDonald Sports Park is set to begin at 10 a.m.\n Checkout their website www.goldrushrace.com for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A treasure hunt will be held from 10:30-11:30 at the Sports Park, while tours of the Heritage Museum takes place 1-4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1-5 a Paddle fest as part of Cheema\u2019s 50th anniversary open house will take place at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A gold panning demonstration with Fred Walsh will take place at the Heritage Museum at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
