FALL RIVER:<\/strong> The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) issued a letter to parents regarding Hurricane Dorian, with the mention that the storm could impact school opening on Monday if there are power outages and\/or property damage to schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HRCE is following the path of the storm closely and we have plans in place to inspect all of our buildings following the storm and make decisions about Monday opening if necessary, the letter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plan of Action<\/strong>
\nWith the storm expected to hit sometime on Saturday, our Operations staff has\nspent Thursday and Friday working with school staff to ensure all of our\nbuildings are secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the storm passes and it is safe, staff will check schools to determine\nif there are any impacts on our ability to open on Monday. This will include\nspeaking with Nova Scotia Power, provincial and municipal emergency officials,\nand Stock Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there are going to be any cancellations or delays, we will share this\ninformation in a number of different ways. We recognize any decisions to close\na school or schools has an impact on families so we will share information as\nsoon as any decisions are made.
