{"id":12427,"date":"2019-09-16T22:08:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T01:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=12427"},"modified":"2019-09-16T22:08:02","modified_gmt":"2019-09-17T01:08:02","slug":"vaughan-matthews-claim-titles-at-riverside-intl-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=12427","title":{"rendered":"Vaughan, Matthews claim titles at Riverside Int&#8217;l Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>JAMES RIVER: <\/strong>A racer from Nine Mile River has captured the East Coast Mini Stock Passione Flooring and Interiors Tour championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave  Matthews, who wheels the no. 99 Scooby Doo machine around tracks across  the Atlantic region, was presented with the title following the tour\u2019s  final race on Sept. 14 at Riverside International Speedway, located near  Antigonish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race was one of the undercards to the Parts for Trucks  Pro Stock Tour 150 lap feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Matthews won the title, it  was Andrew Warren taking home the checkered flag, with Beaver Bank\u2019s Tim  Webster second and Steve MacPhee third. The Stickerfool.com Rookie of  the Year is the no. 58, driven by Darrell Hume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/file3-76-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12429\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>Dave Matthews of Nine Mile River poses with his race team that keyed his East Coast Mini-Stock Tour championship title victory. (Ken MacIsaac photo)<\/em><\/strong> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Matt Vaughan of \nFletchers Lake drove the no. 08 AEROTEC Engines-Fall River \nChiropractic-sponsored hot rod to the NAPA Sportsman Division title. The\n NAPA Sportsman series only hits the track at Riverside International \nfor race action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highlight of Vaughan\u2019s season was winning the Sportsman feature on IWK 250 weekend at the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He entered the finale with a 16 point lead over Darren Price in the no. 29 machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\n ended up that Price\u2019s machine won the finale with Brad Eddy of Lower \nSackville wheeling it as Price couldn\u2019t make it.
