{"id":12850,"date":"2019-11-19T12:00:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T16:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=12850"},"modified":"2019-11-19T12:00:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T16:00:15","slug":"lockview-high-soccer-star-langille-commits-to-memorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=12850","title":{"rendered":"Lockview High soccer star Langille commits to Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>WINDSOR JUNCTION:<\/strong> Highly  touted and talented winger Claire Langille is going to ply her passion  for soccer on The Rock beginning in September 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Memorial \nSea-Hawks women\u2019s soccer team made the announcement of the Lockview High\n School standout\u2019s commitment to their program in a release in mid \nNovember. They call the news of her joining the NL-based university as a\n \u201ctremendous signing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hailing from Windsor Junction, Langille\u2019s \naccomplished soccer resume includes Suburban FC, Nova Scotia provincial \nteams, and the REX program. She intends to major in sciences at \nMemorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially hearing about Memorial\u2019s program from her \ncoaches throughout her career, Claire said the school is well-known in \nthe area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI first got in contact with Coach Power after a \ntournament in Toronto,\u201d said Langille. \u201cI\u2019m excited for next season, and\n most looking forward to getting settled in a new place away from home, \nand having fun playing my favourite sport with my new teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the signing, Head Coach Mike Power noted that one has to see the smile on her face when she hits the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cClaire\n is a top-tier recruit who will add a very different aspect to our \nattacking play,\u201d said Power in a release. \u201cWe believe she has the \npotential to be a real difference maker in the AUS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo complete \nthe whole package, she\u2019s also a terrific student and an overall class \nact. We can\u2019t wait to get her in a Sea-Hawks jersey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This season \nsaw the Sea-Hawks reach the conference semi-final for the sixth \nconsecutive season.
