FALL RIVER: <\/strong>A\n young Middle Sackville girl is proof that no donation is too small, and\n has just the same impact if not more than large ones do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaylee \nBowes and her mom Lori make scrunchies by hand and then sells them at \nvarious craft shows, and more recently at Our Community Market events, \nincluding the Dec. 6 one held at St. John\u2019s United Church. At this \nmarket, she was raising money and donating a percentage of it to Zac\u2019s \nWarriors in support of 11-year-old Zac Connolly, who has recently saw \nhis Neuroblastoma return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think what I\u2019m doing is a good thing \nto fundraise for Zac,\u201d said Bowes. \u201cHe needs a lot of money to go to New\n York for treatment for cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zac\u2019s family is hoping to begin \ntreatments here, but eventually take him to the top Neuroblastoma \nhospital in New York where he can receive treatment. The costs is high, \nhence the push is on for fundraising and assistance from those like \nBowes is welcomed and appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaylee and her mom make the \nscrunchies inside their Middle Sackville home on their free time. The \ncompany name is Luv Ur Scrunchie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMom sews them together and I do all the other steps,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of fun to do. They\u2019re really popular.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\n said they went to a craft fair at Zac\u2019s school and that is who all the \nvendors were donating their sales too. So she wanted to help out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe thought it would be a good idea so we continue to fundraise for him,\u201d said Bowes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While she has yet to meet Zac in person, Bowes thinks he would be happy that she is helping his fundraising efforts out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Bowes, she said it feels good to help someone her age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really happy to help him out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
