So, she reached out\nto Kate Ruiz at Lawncards.ca. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Amelia was feeling like this could be the worst birthday ever,\u201d said Melanie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>  [adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Melanie made a post on the Oaken Hills subdivision\nFacebook page, letting people know it was her daughter\u2019s birthday on March 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI told people to feel free if they were out and about\nto drive by and honk,\u201d said Melanie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s all it took and one by one, shortly after 1\np.m., vehicles in both directions started going by in a \u201ccommunity convoy\u201d\nhonking their horns and yelling \u201cHappy Birthday Amelia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe look on her face. It was\nprecious,\u201d said Melanie. \u201cIt was honestly such a special moment. For the whole\nfamily really. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt a time when things are kind of\nscary and uncertain this was a beautiful moment I\u2019ll treasure. I love where I live,\nand this community is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sign outside the family home, made by Kate from Lawncards.ca, read \u201cHonk! Amelia is 9!\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> [adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Amelia, the sign was a surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt made me feel very happy and I had\na lot of fun,\u201d said the Holland Road School student. \u201cI wasn\u2019t expecting much\nof a fun birthday.
