{"id":13695,"date":"2020-03-29T11:22:50","date_gmt":"2020-03-29T14:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=13695"},"modified":"2020-03-29T11:22:50","modified_gmt":"2020-03-29T14:22:50","slug":"upper-kennetcook-man-arrested-after-fatal-collision-in-gore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=13695","title":{"rendered":"Upper Kennetcook man arrested  after fatal collision in Gore"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>GORE:<\/strong> A 24-year-old man from Upper Kennetcook has been arrested after a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 57-year-old South Rawdon man on Saturday morning, March 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>East Hants RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 354 in Gore at 10 a.m. Several local fire departments, TIR, and EHS also attended the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> [adrotate banner=&#8221;17&#8243;] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPolice arrived on scene and determined that the collision involved two\npick up trucks,\u201d said Cpl. Lisa Croteau with N.S. RCMP. \u201cOne driver, a\n57-year-old man from South Rawdon was pronounced deceased at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe other driver had fled on foot prior to police arrival but later returned to the scene and was arrested without incident.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cpl. Croteau said the man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on June 6.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death, Operate a Conveyance with Blood Alcohol in excess of\u00a080\u00a0mgs% and Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene and Hwy. 354 was closed but\nhas since been re-opened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GORE: A 24-year-old man from Upper Kennetcook has been arrested after a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 57-year-old South Rawdon man on Saturday morning, March 28.
