{"id":13763,"date":"2020-03-30T13:29:11","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T16:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=13763"},"modified":"2020-03-30T13:29:11","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T16:29:11","slug":"new-five-new-covid19-cases-public-health-confirms-one-case-linked-to-community-transmission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=13763","title":{"rendered":"NEW: five new COVID19 cases; public health confirms one case linked to community transmission"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>HRM:<\/strong> As of today, March 30, Nova Scotia has 127 confirmed cases of COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five new cases were identified yesterday, after more than 600 tests were  processed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While most cases to date have been connected to travel or a  known case, public health has now reached a point with one of its  current investigations where no such links can be made and must conclude  that this case is the result of transmission within the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> [adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;] <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> [adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;] <br \/><br \/> While this is not unexpected, it is now more important than ever for  Nova Scotians to strictly adhere to the public health orders and  directives &#8211; practice good hygiene, maintain a physical distance of two  metres or six feet from others, limit essential gatherings to no more  than five people and stay at home as much as possible. <br \/><br \/> The individuals affected range in age from under ten to mid-70&#8217;s. Four  individuals are currently in hospital. Ten individuals have now  recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved. Cases  have been identified in all parts of the province. <br \/><br \/> Public health is working to identify people who may have come in close  contact with the confirmed cases. Those individuals who have been  confirmed are being directed to self-isolate at home, away from the  public, for 14 days.<br \/><br \/> Anyone who has travelled outside Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14  days. As always, any Nova Scotian who develops symptoms of acute  respiratory illness should limit their contact with others until they  feel better. If they are concerned about COVID-19 they can go to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/811.novascotia.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/811.novascotia.ca\/<\/a>\u00a0 and use the online assessment tool. It can also coordinate  commerce activity and emergency responders<br \/> &#8212; a new virus like COVID-19 can cause fear.
