{"id":13885,"date":"2020-04-01T14:38:22","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T17:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=13885"},"modified":"2020-04-01T14:38:22","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T17:38:22","slug":"organizers-make-hard-decision-to-cancel-east-hants-tidefest-2020-due-to-covid19-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=13885","title":{"rendered":"Organizers make &#8220;hard decision&#8221; to cancel East Hants Tidefest 2020 due to COVID19 concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ELMSDALE:<\/strong> Organizers with East Hants Tidefest 2020 announce on April 1 that they have made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 event due to COVID19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a release, Rod Dickie, on behalf of Come Home East Hants Association \/ East Hants Tide Fest, said these are uncertain times right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;17&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The spread of COVID-19 throughout the world and here at home has been tough on everyone, and we have been getting questions about this year&#8217;s plans for East Hants Tide Fest,&#8221; said Dickie. Over the past several months our volunteers have been planning the fourth annual event scheduled for this July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Although we&#8217;ve been looking forward to another great year, our board of volunteers has made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 event.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said they are hopeful things are back to normal very soon, but without knowing how the next weeks and months will play out, they couldn&#8217;t put anyone at risk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We hope you understand,&#8221; said Dickie. &#8220;Right now, we should all focus on staying safe and healthy, so the community can come back together as soon as possible.<br \/><br \/>All of that said, we will start planning Tide Fest 2021 as soon as we can, and get ready to come back bigger and better next year.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tide Fest raises thousands of dollars each year in our community &#8211; 2021 will just have some catching up to do.<br \/><br \/>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ELMSDALE: Organizers with East Hants Tidefest 2020 announce on April 1 that they have made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 event due to COVID19.
