{"id":13904,"date":"2020-04-03T05:36:30","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T08:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=13904"},"modified":"2020-04-03T05:36:30","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T08:36:30","slug":"beaver-bank-teens-get-creative-to-game-away-covid19-boredom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=13904","title":{"rendered":"Beaver Bank teens get creative to \u201cgame away\u201d COVID19 boredom"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>BEAVER BANK:<\/strong> The longer there\u2019s been no school and self-isolation dragged on due to the COVID19 pandemic and the State of Emergency put in place in N.S., the more bored two Beaver Bank teens became.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s when Brady Gillis and his friend Josh Bruffatto came up with an idea that would allow him and their friends with the scout group, they\u2019re involved with in Beaver Bank have some fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were getting bored of being by ourselves and we wanted to be able to keep in touch with our friends,\u201d said Gillis, a Grade 9 student at Lockview High.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two setup an online Dungeons&amp; Dragons group, which began one Thursday night with their scout friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMost of our friends didn\u2019t think it was going to work, but we knew it would,\u201d said Bruffatto, also in Grade 9 at Lockview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the success of that first night, they invited other friends from Beaver Bank who wanted to stay connected and learn to play in a safe environment to join the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two explained why they moved forward with the game idea.
