MILFORD:<\/strong> The number of calls were down in the month of April for many local fire departments, mostly due to changes in responses to medical assists because of COVID19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a look at calls from: Shubenacadie, Milford; Enfield; Elmsdale; Rawdon; Stewiacke; Kennetcook; Nine Mile River; Indian Brook; and Mount Uniacke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milford Fire<\/strong> responded to eight calls in the month, all mutual aid responses. They had six mutual aid requests to Shubenacadie Fire; one to Stewiacke fire; and one to Elmsdale fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shubenacadie Fire<\/strong> was paged for 15 calls, including six grass fires. They also heard their pagers go off for three motor vehicle collisions; two calls to assist RCMP; one electrical fire; one car fire; one chimney fire; and one hit and run medical assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Stewiacke Fire<\/strong>, they had seven calls for the month of April. Those calls were: one commercial fire alarm; one residential fire alarm; one mutual aid request; one motor vehicle collision; one flare up of a structure fire; one structure fire; and one grass fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rawdon Fire<\/strong> had two motor vehicle collisions and a grass fire for a total of three calls during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Kennetcook Fire<\/strong>, they had two calls, with one each of a grass fire and a motor vehicle collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniacke Fire<\/strong> in Mount Uniacke responded to 12 calls, led by four motor vehicle collision calls. They heard the sound of their people for two vehicle fires; two other\/misc. calls; two investigations; and two brush fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elmsdale Fire<\/strong> responded to five calls, with two brush fires and two motor vehicle collision calls leading that tally. The other call was for an illegal burn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Enfield Fire<\/strong>, it was a slow month as they responded to just five motor vehicle collisions and on power line on fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Brook Fire<\/strong> responded to 14 calls in the month of April. They had seven mutual aid request to neighbouring departments and seven grass fire calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine Mile River Fire<\/strong> had three calls, led by two brush fires and one mutual aid request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
