{"id":14505,"date":"2020-05-24T20:25:35","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T23:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=14505"},"modified":"2020-05-24T20:25:35","modified_gmt":"2020-05-24T23:25:35","slug":"lantz-interchange-still-on-target-for-jan-2022-opening-tir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=14505","title":{"rendered":"Lantz Interchange still on target for Jan. 2022 opening: TIR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>LANTZ:<\/strong> The Lantz Interchange is on target for its scheduled completion and opening by January 2022, a spokeswoman with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR) confirmed in an interview on May 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deborah Bayer, a communications spokeswoman, told The Laker News that 40 per cent of the project, which is estimated to cost $30 million, is completed. The cost includes work on the bridges on Hwy 102 over the Nine Mile River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;36&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn any given day, there are approximately 30 to 60 people working onsite,\u201d said Bayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asked if there has been any impact on the project worksite because of COVID19, she said work is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are no foreseeable COVID-19 impacts for this project,\u201d said Bayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;7&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a movement afoot in the community to have the road leading to the Interchange, which will be Exit 8A, named in honour of the 22 shooting victims from the April 18-19 rampage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bayer said it is very thoughtful that the community wants to recognize those victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe province continues to be in mourning and will consider this request at an appropriate time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;6&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LANTZ: The Lantz Interchange is on target for its scheduled completion and opening by January 2022, a spokeswoman with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR) confirmed in an interview on May 22.
