{"id":16011,"date":"2020-08-09T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-09T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=16011"},"modified":"2020-08-09T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-09T15:00:00","slug":"streatch-echoes-residents-concerns-over-proposed-developments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=16011","title":{"rendered":"Streatch echoes residents\u2019 concerns over proposed developments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>WINDSOR JUNCTION:<\/strong> The number of proposed development applications on the books for the Fall River area and Windsor Junction is not only a concern for residents, but also of the local councillor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve Streatch, who announced Aug 4 that he would be reoffering for the position for the Oct. 17 municipal election, said the growing area continues to do so, but he thinks council must look at a patient approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI share the residents concerns with the number of applications submitted to HRM over the past number of months,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no less than four at least proposed developments being targeted for the Capilano\/Windgate; Ingram Drive; Charleswood subdivision regions, which would add hundreds of homes and vehicles to an already busy road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhether it be the proposal on Ingram Drive; the one over into Councillor Blackburn\u2019s area, Capilano, Charleswood, all of those have created concern in the community,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is clear as we move through the process and public meetings are required or public hearings are required, those can\u2019t happen in a community as dynamic as Fall River online virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have asked our staff to delay until such time that we can meet in person those meetings.
