Liberal Party leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER:<\/strong> The federal Liberal MP for Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook is among the names being bountied about to put their name forward in an upcoming N.S. Liberal Leadership race to replace Premier Stephen McNeil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a message to The Laker News on Friday night, Aug. 7 before he spoke to other media next week, Samson told the community news website that he hasn&#8217;t ruled out anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m giving it some thought,\u201d Samson said from his Fall River Village home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other names being speculated include: Zach Chirchill; Karen Casey; MP&#8217;s Darren Fisher; and Sean Fraser, among others. Former MP for Kings-Hants Scott Brison has also had his name mentioned in chatter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McNeil announced he was stepping down on Aug. 6. In a statement he said he was stepping down and leaving public office after 17 years, seven as Premier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I want to thank Nova Scotians for giving me the opportunity to be your premier,&#8221; said McNeil in the statement. &#8220;We have accomplished so much together. I may not have always gotten it right.
