GOFFS:<\/strong> A 44-year-old Glace Bay man is facing charges of assault with a weapon and dangerous driving after he allegedly drove towards a Halifax Regional Police officer who had to jump out of the way narrowly avoiding being hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a release, Halifax District RCMP say that at 12:55 a.m. on Aug. 30, police were called to assist HRP with an erratic driver on Bell Blvd. at Halifax Stanfield Airport<\/p>\n\n\n\n “An HRP officer was attempting to approach a suspicious parked vehicle when it fled at a high rate of speed,” said the release. “The vehicle then returned and drove directly toward the officer who was standing in a well-lit crosswalk signalling the driver to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The officer jumped out of the way to avoid the vehicle and was not injured.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police say the driver then parked nearby and police apprehended and arrested him without further incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A Roadside Screening Device was administered as the driver showed signs of impairment. The test resulted in a warning and the driver was issued a 15-day driving suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wade Christopher MacSween was remanded and appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on September 1.
