(Healey photo)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GEARY, N.B.:<\/strong> On a historic night, two racers from East Hants found the podium in feature-length racing action Sept. 5 during night two of SpeedWeekend at Speedway 660, located just outside Fredericton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Braden Langille of Shubenacadie took both ends of a Legend car feature, good enough to capture the title win, while Nine Mile River\u2019s Colton Noble had a good enough average to find himself third on the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Race officials split up the Legend feature into a 20 lap and 30 lap feature, with the top three finishing positions being based on average finish between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s awesome,\u201d said Langille of the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_3100-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16674\"\/><figcaption>Shubie&#8217;s Braden Langille grabbed both ends of the Legend feature at SpeedWeekend. (Healey photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VIDEO AD   Wamback 2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Try7xT2Oh5w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He said after a night of racing at Scotia Speedworld on Sept. 4, he went back home to Shubenacadie and worked on the car until about 2 a.m. They loaded up and headed to the Geary Woods about 6 a.m. and missed the first practice as they made sure everything was bolted together tightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe fired off fast in the second practice, and there were a couple other good cars here, so I knew I was in tough,\u201d said Langille. \u201c(Craig) MacDonald put up a whale of a fight out there at the end, but we came out on top.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Langille said the car was good right off the hauler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was pretty close to where I thought it should be, we had to make a couple of small adjustments,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was bang on. O\u2019Brien Plumbing-sponsored Legend car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is amazing,\u201d he said. \u201cI never thought I\u2019d be standing here in the legend car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had a pretty good car today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said there was a lot of help in the pits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had a lot of help today and stayed out of trouble on the track,\u201d said Noble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a historic first, Courtney O\u2019Blenis of Boundary Creek, N.B. became the first female to take home the checkered flag in the Martins Home Heating 125. O\u2019Blenis bested Curtis Collins and Kenny MacKenzie Jr. to the line for the victory, pending post-race tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to tell you this is the best car I\u2019ve had here,\u201d said O\u2019Blenis to the track announcer. \u201cI can\u2019t thank my guys, my sister enough, for all they do. My sister, she\u2019s my crew chief. She makes sure the car is ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She spoke of the early battle she had with Richard Atkinson, who finished sixth a lap down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had a great battle,\u201d she told the announcer. \u201cI didn\u2019t really want to run as hard as I did but he was putting on a show let me tell you.
