Erica Pynn sprang into action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 7 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a family was en route to the hospital with their four-year-old who had swallowed a quarter. The coin was lodged in his throat, blocking his airway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worried that they wouldn&#8217;t make it to hospital in time, the family drove to the Lower Sackville detachment and called for help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\/Sgt. Pynn heard the call, ran outside and performed abdominal thrusts on the child.
