ELMSDALE:<\/strong> This week, East Hants RCMP responded to 118 called for service during the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sept. 29, RCMP received a report that a pothole was on fire in the Shubenacadie area. The caller stated it may have been a puddle of gas set on fire. Police responded to find the fire extinguished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 911 call was received on Oct. 1 that a family dog in the Mount Uniacke area nipped a toddler causing minor injuries. EHS attended in conjunction with police and provided on site care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dog was a rescue dog and new to the family. The dog was not known to be aggressive, but the family planned to return the pet to the shelter for safety reasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Oct. 1, RCMP received a report of two ATV\u2019s with four kids, approximately aged 13-14-years-old, trying to tip over a portable potty on the side of the road near Lakelands. A patrol was made, but the youth were gone. They were unsuccessful in their efforts to dethrone the throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police responded to a report of a motorcycle crash at Atlantic Motorsport Park in North Salem, near Shubenacadie, on Oct. 2. EHS was called and transported the rider to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 2 ion Milford on Oct. 2. The collision was between a farm tractor and vehicle. No one was injured in the mishap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a 20-year-old woman, who was the driver of the vehicle involved, was charged with driving without a license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Oct. 2, police investigators were advised of a KIJIJI deal gone wrong. A local buyer sent a stranger an e-transfer in excess of $850 for specialized equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the parcel showed up empty, the buyer knew he had been duped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation continues, but this is a sober reminder not to transfer funds to strangers before the merchandise is in your hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 8 p.m. on Oct. 2, RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious male peering in empty car windows in the Elmsdale area. A patrol of the area turned up no suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police encourage residents to keep your car locked and your valuables out of sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCMP responded to an attempted robbery on Oct. 4 at the Mount Uniacke gas station. A man entered the store with a mask on and demanded cash and cigarettes. The employee did not oblige, and the suspect fled on foot to a vehicle, described as a four-door sedan driven by another man. It was parked in the dark in an adjacent property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matter remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
