Add having a job and that time shrinks even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Katelyn Parker she\u2019s making good use of the down time she does get to make face masks for people to wear to follow COVID19 health guidelines. The masks have another benefit\u2014each mask she sells sees the proceeds of the sale donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cancer society is near and dear to Parker as her grandfather is sick with cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;6&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s where part of the inspiration to make the masks under the banner \u201cDaffodil Masks\u201d began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy sister and I worked at the WJCC this summer and so we started making them as we needed them for the day camps,\u201d said Parker. \u201cWe had to have different ones for the kids, so we made them, but never thought of selling them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI then found out my grandfather was sick, and I wanted to do something. So, I decided to sell them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far Parker, a Lockview High 2020 Grad, has made 20 masks, with orders totalling upwards of 40 being requested that she\u2019s making as time allows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m keeping very busy,\u201d she said with a smile inside a Fall River coffee shop on Oct. 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;96&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;92&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive about Parker making the face masks. She was planning to begin mask delivery after the interview with The Laker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of people are sharing it on Facebook and are excited about it for me,\u201d the Windsor Junction resident said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People can order their own face mask from Parker by checking out the \u201cDaffodil Masks\u201d Facebook page.
