FALL RIVER:<\/strong> A 54-year-old Truro man has been charged after Halifax Regional Police caught him doing more than 50 km\/h over the posted speed limit on Nov. 4 near Fall River. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In a release, HRP said at approximately 6:45 a.m. a member of the Traffic Unit observed a car travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 118 inbound near the Fall River exit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The officer captured the vehicle\u2019s speed at 152 km\/h in a 100 km\/h zone.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”92″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n A 54-year-old man from Truro was ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km\/h over the speed limit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, he was suspended from driving for one week and the vehicle that he was driving was seized and towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver\u2019s record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on speed enforcement.
