FALL RIVER: <\/strong>\u201cWe can\u2019t be relaxed just because we\u2019re safe here in Nova Scotia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n That was the message from N.S. Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang in responding to a question from The Laker News about Nova Scotians becoming complacent with the COVID19 measures in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the COVID19 briefing on Nov. 3, Dr. Strang, said he does feel Nova Scotians are becoming a bit too relaxed as it relates to restrictions and public health measures aimed at keeping people safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”92″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n That follows reports of more large social gatherings that exceed the limit in place as well as more people not wearing masks when they should, including when they can\u2019t socially distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI do think we are seeing some signals of people becoming complacent,\u201d said Dr. Strang. \u201cAs the world becomes a bit more concerning around us, whether its other parts of Canada or internationally, it needs to be a strong reminder to all Nova Scotians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe way we keep ourselves safe is to follow all the public health restrictions and recommendations. That\u2019s how we minimize a strong resurgence of COVID19. It\u2019s how we keep ourselves safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”96″]<\/p>\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n He urged all residents to keep up the safety measures in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s critically important that all Nova Scotians continue to practice the things around masking, social distancing, limited social gatherings, etc.,\u201d said Dr. Strang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The active cases for the province as of Nov. 5 stands at 20.
