FALL RIVER:<\/strong> Volunteer firefighters with Station 45 Fall River are giving a little extra cheer this holiday season to those less fortunate in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The volunteer firefighters each chipped in with some donations for the Lions Christmas Express, who help make the season of joy a happy one for many who are in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With COVID19 this year, it\u2019s making the normal way of doing things and collecting food for those less fortunate residents. This year, the Lions Christmas Express is only being able to provide a Christmas breakfast and dinner to recipients, expected to total 130-plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”7″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Since there was no parade this year to participate in and we couldn\u2019t help with the food box packing like previous years, we decided that we all could throw in some money as a way to help out,\u201d said Station 45 volunteer station chief Nick Yeomans. \u201cEveryone of our members donated what they chose to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the firefighters understand the challenges faced by all this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a very difficult year for many in our community, so we felt the this was the best way to help,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The firefighters were able to collect $500-plus for the Lions Christmas Express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”9″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”95″]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [adrotate banner=”94″] [adrotate banner=”93″] FALL RIVER: Volunteer firefighters with Station 45 Fall River are giving a little extra cheer this holiday season to those less fortunate in the community.
