EAST HANTS:<\/strong> RCMP in Enfield and Rawdon detachments attended to 90 calls for service for the period Nov. 25 to Dec. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Nov. 24, officers were called to assist a man who inadvertently got himself stuck on a second-floor deck with no way down.  Once outside, the man shut the door and discovered it was jammed upon his attempt to re-enter the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police were called off as they responded as a neighbour was able to come to the man’s aide and open the door from the inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of November 26, police received a request for extra patrols in the Lantz area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents reported suspicious vehicles and persons were observed through the previous night. S\/Sgt. Cory Bushell wish to remind residents to report suspicions activity at the time it is observed as this will provide the best chance of detection and investigation of suspicious activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While on patrol on November 27, police observed a lone vehicle parked in the Lion’s Den parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon approach, members detected the odour of burning cannabis emanating from the vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A search of the vehicle revealed cannabis and drug paraphernalia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four local youth who were present in the vehicle were each given tickets for illegal possession of cannabis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Nov. 29, an officer located a vehicle parked at Riverside Education Centre in Milford. Upon investigation, the member discovered a local area man in the vehicle smoking cannabis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was issued a ticket for illegal possession of cannabis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man was also given a 24 hour driving suspension and his vehicle towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the past week, RCMP members were called upon to complete five well-being checks.\u00a0 These checks are normally requested by friends, relatives or neighbours of persons whom it is believed may be, or actually are, in non-criminal distress of some kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
