ENFIELD:<\/strong> East Hants RCMP responded to 91 calls for service between Dec. 15 and Dec. 23 throughout the municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this column, S\/Sgt. Cory Bushell provides some of the highlighted calls members attended to during the past eight days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Dec. 16, police responded to a complaint of a collision in Minasville between a Farm Tractor and a Cadillac. The Tractor was rear-ended by the Cadillac, causing the tractor to split in half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both drivers of each vehicle sustained injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was transported to hospital by EHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matter is still under investigation and charges are pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While on patrol on Dec. 16, a member spotted a vehicle with the license plate obscured by dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A traffic stop was initiated and upon requesting the driver’s license and registration, the officer found the driver to be driving while revoked, without proper registration or insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver, a 39-year-old from the Kennetcook area, was subsequently charged, and his vehicle towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Dec. 17, officers responded to a report of a theft of a large amount of cash from a vehicle in the Mount Uniacke area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the East Hants RCMP at 902-883-7070 or Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police want to remind everyone to not leave valuables in an unattended vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCMP responded to a complaint in the Mount Uniacke area on Dec. 21 of theft of a catalytic converter from vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thieves will generally take such items to a local scrap yard in exchange for cash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information on who is responsible to contact East Hants RCMP at 902-883-7077 or Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
