ENFIELD:<\/strong> For the week of Jan. 5 to Jan. 12, East Hants RCMP responded to 93 calls for service throughout the municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Jan. 6, officers were alerted by OnStar Emergency that a driver was in distress on Highway 102 near Enfield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members attended to determine a dealer employee was transferring an electric vehicle from one dealer to another when it ran out of power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver had pulled over safety and was waiting to be picked up and have the vehicle towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Jan. 10, a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the Lantz area, with no answer on call-back sent officers out to check it out in person.  Members attended and attempted to knock at the door several times with no answer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the potential seriousness of a call to 911, members lawfully entered the residence to find the homeowner asleep in bed. A thorough assessment was conducted, and it was determined there was no emergency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members cautioned the homeowner on the false use of 911.  The public is reminded; the police respond in person to every instance of a call to 911. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Persons who call 911 for false, frivolous, or vexatious reasons can be charged under the 911 act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police responded to Milford to deal with an ATV driving at a high rate of speed and doing wheelies near the Milford Esso on Jan. 11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officers made a patrol; however the ATV was gone on arrival.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security footage has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact the East Hants RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While on routine patrol in Belnan on Jan. 11, an officer spotted a driver who he knew to be suspended from driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The member stopped the vehicle and confirmed the driver was indeed suspended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 37-year-old Nine Mile River man was charged with driving while his license was revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
