DARTMOUTH:<\/strong> A man from Wellington and woman from Fall River were among three people caught going more than the posted speed limit on Jan. 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a news release, Halifax Regional police say members of their Traffic Unit observed three vehicles driving in excess of 50 km\/h over the speed limit on Hwy 102 in Halifax and Hwy 111 in Dartmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A 43-year-old Wellington man was nabbed for going 151 km\/h in a 100 km\/h zone; while a 34-year-old Fall River woman was caught going 170 km\/h in a 100 zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”7″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n The third person, a 51-year-old Porters Lake man, was picked up for going 101 km\/h in a 50 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All were ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km\/h over the speed limit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, all three were suspended from driving for one week and their vehicles were seized and towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”95″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″}<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver\u2019s record.In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on speed enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n HRP said that all Nova Scotians have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.
