KENNETCOOK<\/strong>: Here\u2019s a look at the fire calls for the month of January for fire departments throughout East Hants and Stewiacke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basic call info is provided to us by fire departments in: Kennetcook; Mount Uniacke; Milford; Stewiacke; Indian Brook (Sipekne\u2019katik); Enfield; Rawdon; Elmsdale; Nine Mile River; and Lantz fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Kennetcook fire<\/strong>, they responded to four calls, all mutual aid to a neighbouring department. Three were for structure fires and one was a chimney fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Mount Uniacke, firefighters<\/strong> had nine calls during January, led by five motor vehicle collisions. They also had one power lines down; one mutual aid call; one medical assist; and one structure fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniacke Fire would like to thank the community for their continued support in purchasing tickets for the provincial firefighter 50\/50 draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Milford fire<\/strong>, they heard their pagers go off 11 times during the month. Three of the calls were in their district, while eight others were mutual aid responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mutual aid responses saw them called to Shubenacadie five times; Indian Brook twice; and Nine Mile River once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six of the 11 calls were motor vehicle collisions; and one each of a structure fire; electrical fire; CO Alarm; EHS Assistance; and smoke condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stewiacke Fire<\/strong> responded to five calls, led by three mvc\u2019s. The two others were for structure fires, one in Brookfield and one in Indian Brook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Indian Brook fire<\/strong>, they had eight calls, split between in their district and mutual aid to a neighbouring department. They had one mvc; one chimney fire; one electrical fire; and one commercial fire alarm (turned out to be a false alarm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four mutual aid calls were three for mvc\u2019s; and one a vehicle fire. They were all to assist Shubenacadie Fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfield Fire<\/strong> had six calls, led by three mutual aid calls. They also were paged for on mvc; one brush fire; and one flue fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Rawdon firefighters, <\/strong>they had nine calls, led by five mutual aid requests. They also had two chimney fires; one mvc; and one structure fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mutual aid calls saw them respond once each to Indian Brook; Nine Mile River; Gore; Walton; and Brooklyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elmsdale fire<\/strong> had 13 calls, led by three mvc\u2019s; three structure fires; and three alarm calls. They also had two flue fires; one fire investigation; and one medical assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Nine Mile River<\/strong>, they had six calls, five of which were mutual aid requests. Firefighters also attended to one smoke condition in a home in their own district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lantz Fire<\/strong> had seven calls in January, all of which were mutual aid requests to a neighbouring department. Three of those were structure fires; two chimney\/electrical fires; one alarm activations; and one mvc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shubenacadie fire<\/strong> did not submit before we posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
