{"id":21037,"date":"2021-04-25T21:05:13","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T00:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=21037"},"modified":"2021-04-25T21:05:13","modified_gmt":"2021-04-26T00:05:13","slug":"stricter-covid19-measures-including-higher-fines-announced-by-province","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=21037","title":{"rendered":"Stricter COVID19 measures, including higher fines, announced by province"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;105&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HALIFAX\/EAST HANTS:<\/strong> Nova Scotia Premier Iain Rankin and Dr. Robert Strang announced changes today, April 25, aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19 across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gathering limit outside of Halifax has been reduced to 10 people, whether indoors or outdoors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gathering limit remains five in Halifax Regional Municipality as well as the entire communities of Hubbards, Milford, Lantz, Elmsdale, Enfield, Mount Uniacke, South Uniacke, Ecum Secum, and Trafalgar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People are also not to travel outside their local community unless it is for essential travel, such as work, school, child care or medical or legal appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<br \/><br \/>These restrictions are effective immediately and will remain in effect until at least May 20.<br \/><br \/>&#8220;We are at a very serious crossroads &#8211; the virus is spreading and we need to stop it now,&#8221; said Premier Rankin. &#8220;COVID-19 has found its way into every region of our province. This is one step to help stop that but more restrictions may become necessary in the coming days.&#8221;<br \/><br \/>In addition, the fines for breaking any part of the order under the Health Protection Act will double.
