{"id":21180,"date":"2021-05-02T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-02T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=21180"},"modified":"2021-05-02T11:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-02T14:00:00","slug":"dr-strang-confident-restrictions-will-have-right-impact-for-nsians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=21180","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Strang \u201cconfident\u201d restrictions will have right impact for NSians"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;126&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER\/MILFORD<\/strong>: Nova Scotia&#8217;s Chief Medical Officer of Health said there was discussions amongst his staff in determining a recommendation that would be the best course of action when it came to implementing &#8216;circuit-breaker&#8217; type restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the province introduced new restrictions for Halifax and surrounding areas of Enfield; Elmsdale; Lantz; Mount Uniacke; and Milford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A couple days later, the restrictions were expanded across the province and school\u2019s province-wide were closed as the health officials worked feverishly to contain any wide-spread outbreak of COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In answering a question from The Laker News at the April 27 COVID-19 briefing, Dr. Robert Strang said it was a rapidly evolving situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve seen all the announcements we\u2019ve made,\u201d Dr. Strang said. \u201cThings have progressed very rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe continue to have to think about what\u2019s the next set of restrictions and when do we put them in place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said there\u2019s a lot of discussion that goes into that decision making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have the luxury of time, so there\u2019s a lot of pressure,\u201d said Dr. Strang. \u201cWe have to make some decisions and I believe we\u2019re making the right decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;6&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;95&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>VIDEO from the April 27 briefing.
