ENFIELD:<\/strong> Officers with East Hants RCMP issued a variety of summary offence tickets during Canada Road Safety Week, May 18 -24, including four related to COVID-19 violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Canada Road Safety Week is an enforcement-driven initiative led by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), and is intended to increase safe driving in order to save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Road safety is a priority for East Hants RCMP. During the Canada Road Safety Week several check points and traffic stops were conducted throughout the county. <\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”2″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, with East Hants RCMP, said the checkpoints resulted in the following charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 21 summary offence tickets for motor vehicle act infractions<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 two summary offence tickets for illegally transporting cannabis in a vehicle<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 three summary offence tickets under the Health Protection Act and one under the Emergency Management Act<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 one driver for impaired driving offence<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said all motorists have a role to play with road safety. If you suspect a driver is impaired then please call 911. <\/p>\n\n\n\n “Your actions could save someone’s life,” said Cpl.
