Results of the student election were released upon all polls in Canada closing on Sept. 20. Students across Canada predicted a Liberal minority government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Vote Program was created by the non-partisan organization CIVIX Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are responses from students at Elmsdale District on participating in StudentVote as provided by teacher Denise Palmer on Sept. 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. What did you enjoy most about this experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed the suspense about who would win.\u201d &#8211; Michael Hines, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI liked learning about the candidates on the computer.\u201d &#8211; Will Foster, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed this because I felt like an adult.\u201d &#8211; John Teskey, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know what to do next time when I do vote. When I am a grown up I will remember this.\u201d &#8211; Noah Crossman, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI really liked putting the vote in the box.\u201d &#8211; Chase Ratcliffe, Grade 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNormally I wouldn\u2019t care too much because I didn\u2019t know much about it, but my teacher showed me about it and it was pretty interesting. But, my favourite part was voting; I felt pretty powerful.\u201d &#8211; Lily O\u2019Brien, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPolitics is so interesting so it was fun.\u201d &#8211; Sophia Wilson, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI liked marking the ballot.\u201d &#8211; Calah MacIlreith, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed the vote because it felt real and I like the experience. What did you learn about voting and why it&#8217;s important?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI learned that it is important to vote.\u201d &#8211; Tanner Musseau, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI learned that a good voter does his (or her) research.\u201d &#8211; Michael Hines, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople have a voice.\u201d &#8211; Wesley MacIssac, Grade 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is important to vote because then you have a choice to pick a new Prime Minister.\u201d &#8211; Liam Palmer, Grade 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
