{"id":24366,"date":"2021-10-22T23:29:50","date_gmt":"2021-10-23T02:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=24366"},"modified":"2021-10-22T23:29:50","modified_gmt":"2021-10-23T02:29:50","slug":"dragons-vipers-bulldogs-have-good-cross-country-regionals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=24366","title":{"rendered":"Dragons, Vipers, Bulldogs have good cross-country regionals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;95&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;127&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>Several runners from the schools head to provincials in Bridgewater on Monday<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER: <\/strong>The Lockview High School intermediate girls cross country running team are leading the way of the many runners who had a successful regional cross-country championship, and some who will now head to provincials, scheduled for Monday in Bridgewater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intermediate girls team of Abby Lewis; Paige Carruthers; Ella Cozens; and Cicely Harnum captured the regional banner in their respective category for Lockview High.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lewis, of Beaver Bank, finished almost three minutes ahead of her nearest competitor. Carruthers was sixth; Cozens was ninth; and Harnum was 16<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other LHS intermediate runners that competed included: Jenna Haverstock (29<sup>th<\/sup>); Rhian MacDonald (30<sup>th<\/sup>); Olivia MacAusland (31<sup>st<\/sup>); Dannie MacFarlane (35<sup>th<\/sup>); Breigha Purcell (47<sup>th<\/sup>); Riley MacKinnon (52<sup>nd<\/sup>); Hailey Bland (84<sup>th<\/sup>); and Mateja Stach (87<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 101 runners in the intermediate girls class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lockview High finished ahead of Charles P. Allen in the team standings to take the banner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;7&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In junior high boys, the Georges P. Vanier Vipers finished in fourth place to book their ticket to provincials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 21 Viper boys that ran and the top seven were the ones selected to heads to Bridgewater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That list was led by Max Brien, who finished in ninth place. Also going to provincials based on finishes are as follows: Rory Fox (22<sup>nd<\/sup>); Xavier Lerner (27<sup>th<\/sup>); Brett Skinner (31<sup>st<\/sup>); Isiah Page (34<sup>th<\/sup>); Aidan Buchanan (35<sup>th<\/sup>); and Hilmir Bjarnason (37th).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;8&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;93&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other Viper finishes in the junior boys were: Joel Haverstock (42nd); Isaac Williams (49<sup>th<\/sup>); Cormac MacDonald (54<sup>th<\/sup>); Benny McCormack (66<sup>th<\/sup>); Jack Beaver (68<sup>th<\/sup>); Jack Doyle (78<sup>th<\/sup>); Alex Munroe (98<sup>th<\/sup>); Jayden Tillman (104<sup>th<\/sup>); Liam McLean (114<sup>th<\/sup>); Jonah MacIntyre (120<sup>th<\/sup>); Oliver Hayward (124<sup>th<\/sup>) Nic Matteau (128<sup>th<\/sup>); Grant Trumble (133<sup>rd<\/sup>); and Jayden Heath (144<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Harold T.
