FLETCHERS LAKE:<\/strong> A 44-year-old Wellington man suffered non-life-threatening injuries following a late-night single-vehicle collision in Fletchers Lake that awoke nearby residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Halifax District RCMP Cpl. Lisa Croteau said at shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 3, officers attended the collision at the corner of Hwy 2 and Holland Road in Fletchers Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe driver and single occupant was taken to hospital by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries,\u201d said Cpl. Croteau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Firefighters from Station 45 Fall River; Station 42 Wellington; 9 Quint Sackville; and Station 43 Grand Lake responded to the 911 call as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n The vehicle, a black Volvo station wagon, struck a power pole and it had broken and fallen down with the wires still live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Upon fire\u2019s arrival, the wires were live, and they had to await the grid being shut off to attend and extricate the victim, the man from Wellington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n N.S. Power shut off the grid causing power to go out to those from Fletchers Lake to Enfield as they repaired and put the new power pole in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nearby residents said they had heard a loud thud and ran to the scene to see if they could help and also called 911 to report the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”148″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cpl.
