{"id":25415,"date":"2021-12-07T14:34:15","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T18:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=25415"},"modified":"2021-12-07T14:34:15","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T18:34:15","slug":"residents-pay-it-forward-to-long-time-community-volunteer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=25415","title":{"rendered":"Residents pay it forward to long-time community volunteer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;127&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;95&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WINDSOR JUNCTION:<\/strong> A group of residents came together Tuesday morning to pay it forward to a long-time Windsor Junction volunteer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group, led by Haley Ellerbeck, were at Bussy\u2019s home in Windsor Junction cutting up and piling wood for the coming winter season after hearing of him only having a few chords. So, they went to work, and between a donation of half a chord from Barrett Firewood in Beaver Bank and the group piling their money together were able to get him some more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, they were all gathered at Bussy\u2019s home seen piling the wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While they really didn\u2019t do it for recognition but more about giving back to someone who has cared and given his time in the community, Michele Stephen, Bussy\u2019s sister-in-law, felt it was worthy to be noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing what they are doing for him,\u201d she said. \u201cThey need to be recognized for this. He\u2019s so grateful for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;7&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/55E081A8-CCA1-4753-8232-EC2B4472283C.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25427\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For their part, Ellerbeck said she knows how much Bussy gives back so it\u2019s only right that he gets looked after, and this was a perfect time for her and four others who she works with at AHTPOS. Two of them are from the Fall River area and have had first-hand experience seeing Bussy at the WJCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe thought we would help out and get him some wood for the rest of the winter,\u2019 said Ellerbeck. \u201cHopefully, it will last the full winter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said one can tell how happy Bussy is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe feel amazing to help out,\u201d said Ellerbeck. \u201cHe can\u2019t believe we\u2019re coming here just to help him out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;92&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;148&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children went by and they each said hi to Bussy earlier in the day. That shows what he means to the community, said Ellerbeck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt shows what the kids think of him,\u201d she said. \u201cEveryone is so nice to him because he\u2019s so nice to everyone.
