SHUBENACADIE:<\/strong> East Hants RCMP have charged a 55-year-old Shubenacadie area with multiple weapons offences and a breach of court order following an incident Dec. 3 outside a retail business in Shubenacadie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n East Hants RCMP S\/Sgt. Cory Bushell said officers responded to a report of an impaired driver parked at the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUpon arrival, the members located the vehicle and a man inside who was somewhat unresponsive,\u201d said S\/Sgt. Bushell. \u201cThe officers roused the man, and upon detecting signs of impairment, placed him under arrest for care and control of a conveyance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”2″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”146″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n S\/Sgt. Bushell said as the officers removed the man from the vehicle, they observed a prohibited firearm and a prohibited conducted energy weapon, commonly called a stun gun inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe subsequent investigation revealed the impairment may be drug related and blood samples were obtained for examination,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the driver was held until sober and released to face the courts at a later date on multiple weapons charges and breach of a pre-existing court order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n S\/Sgt.
