New Year Message<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2021 proved to be another difficult year as the global pandemic continued to affect our lives in ways we wouldn\u2019t have imagined just a few years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the holiday season now behind us, it\u2019s time to look at the year ahead with a fresh perspective. There\u2019s no doubt that countries around the world will face tough economic times as we all rebuild from the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That will obviously be a top priority, but it certainly isn\u2019t the only one. Healthcare is the #1 priority across the country, whether it\u2019s wait times for care, mental health care, long term care standards, or National Pharmacare. Another key issue affecting more Canadians today is affordable housing. Skyrocketing rental rates and house prices will require government intervention to help provinces and communities address this critical matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, with more frequent and severe weather-related events, we are reminded of the importance of addressing climate change and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, as we move forward into 2022 with an optimism to improve on several fronts, there are many factors to consider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, we can do this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your priorities for 2022?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most people have opinions on how to best deal with the important issues facing Canadians, especially in our local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As your Member of Parliament, my main responsibility is to represent Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook, and ensure your collective opinions are heard in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to one-on-one conversations with people in the riding \u2014something that has been difficult during the pandemic\u2014the best way for me to hear about your priorities and concerns is when we ask questions in our newsletters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, my office hears from constituents who are either for or against any given topic in the media that day. However, that\u2019s only a small portion of the people in the riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want your opinion to matter too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
