FALL RIVER: <\/strong>Post-secondary universities and students are being applauded for being as adaptive as they have been with the impacts COVID-19 have brought their learning, the Minister of Advanced Education said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brian Wong, the MLA for Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank, was answering a question Jan. 13 following cabinet meetings in a phone interview with The Laker News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere’s a lot of impact on post-secondary schools directly affecting students,\u201d said Wong. \u201cUniversities are doing their best to try to accommodate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe’re very proud of our students, the way that they’ve been able to pivot and adapted in order to go on line.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the current situation isn\u2019t exactly where they expected to be or wanted to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn general, we’re all doing the best that we can,\u201d he said. \u201cWe’re very proud of our students and what they’ve been able to accomplish so far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”150″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wong said his department is in constant contact with the post-secondary sector and the Department of Health and Wellness to see their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe universities are always top of mind for us,\u201d said Wong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEvery institution has different needs, so like I say, there\u2019s constant conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”95″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”84″]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [adrotate banner=”93″] [adrotate banner=”127″] FALL RIVER: Post-secondary universities and students are being applauded for being as adaptive as they have been with the impacts COVID-19 have brought their learning, the Minister of Advanced Education said.
