{"id":26502,"date":"2022-02-16T18:03:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T22:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=26502"},"modified":"2022-02-16T18:03:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T22:03:00","slug":"waverleys-carroll-snags-ecma-award-nomination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=26502","title":{"rendered":"Waverley&#8217;s Carroll snags ECMA Award nomination"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;126&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;105&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WAVERLEY:<\/strong> A Waverley musician who hasn\u2019t had a recording in 10 years is honoured that his newest recording has earned an East Coast Music Award nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave Carroll said seeing \u201cUntil One Day\u201d nominated for Roots Recording of the Year for the ECMA\u2019s, scheduled for May 4-8 in Fredericton, N.B., is an honour and a bit of relief as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve been plugging away at this new one for a while and was hoping other people would appreciate the work that went into the song writing and production,\u2019 said Carroll from his home in beautiful Waverley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI worked hard to create something that could stand up critically with all the great new music being produced in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carroll wasn\u2019t the only Waverley artist to be nominated for an ECMA this year. Moe Kenny was also nominated for Covers in Folk Recording of the Year. Hillsburn and The Town Heroes lead the pack with five nominations apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the nomination is meaningful to him on a number of fronts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve been playing music professionally for 32 years. It doesn&#8217;t feel like it&#8217;s been that long, but it has,\u201d said Carroll. \u201cWhen I got started, I was attracted to artists who seemed to have long careers and changed with the times they were in.
