(Submitted photo)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DUTCH SETTLEMENT:<\/strong> Students in John Ardley\u2019s combined Grade 5\/6 class at Dutch Settlement Elementary School (DSES) have been doing some world-wide learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the students in Ardley\u2019s class organized and held a multicultural festival at the school\u2019s gymnasium, displaying their work and knowledge of the countries they conducted research on for the past month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The multicultural festival, held March 30 and the first event for the general public to be allowed into schools since COVID-19 restrictions began, was a fun and informative filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220330_104359-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27438\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;159&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was music to entertain those attending and food to fill those with a yearning for a full stomach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ardley said the event was a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe festival was very successful as many people attended, not just students, but those from the community,\u201d he told The Laker News. \u201cEveryone thoroughly enjoyed it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220330_092317-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27440\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;84&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220330_104340-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27439\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220330_104431-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27437\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>He commended his combined Grade 5\/6 students for all of their hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy students went above and beyond in preparation for and during the festival,\u201d said Ardley. \u201cThey put a lot of time and effort into this event.
