{"id":29892,"date":"2022-07-10T17:51:41","date_gmt":"2022-07-10T20:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=29892"},"modified":"2022-07-10T17:51:41","modified_gmt":"2022-07-10T20:51:41","slug":"noble-boys-take-checkered-flags-on-the-laker-news-night-at-ssw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=29892","title":{"rendered":"Noble boys take checkered flags on The Laker News night at SSW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;169&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD:<\/strong> It was a double night of checkered flags for two racing brothers from Nine Mile River during a big night of racing at Scotia Speedworld on The Laker News night July 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The night featured the Shriner\u2019s Classic 50 laps feature for sportsman and the INEX National qualifier for Legends 50 lap race, presented by The Laker News, plus the regular CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series action for the Beginner Bandolero; Outlaw Bandolero; and the Thunder\/Lightning division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the night, The Laker News had several guests throw the green flag for features, including Deb Peddle-Hann from Journey 2 Wellness; Sherry Willison and son Andrew Willison for two divisions from JunkWorks Halifax; and Pat Healey did for the Legends national qualifier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Laker News also gave out a few t-shirts to young kids in the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/01C577A9-EA9E-4089-855D-17745BABE27B.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29893\" width=\"488\" height=\"366\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;161&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gifts included a surprise for Morgan Moody, a new mom who works with TCM TV and a familiar face at the track. Here&#8217;s the video of the surprise as shot by Dagley Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Surprise for Morgan on The Laker News night\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d-Es9QW6hK4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the INEX National Legends qualifier, 12 cars took to Scotia Speedworld to battle for a qualifying spot in the Asphalt Nationals in November in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Strictly Hydraulics Legends heats, the no. 18 of Josh Langille and 03 of Colton Noble picked up the wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the feature, Nine Mile River\u2019s Noble, who is associated with teams with the Laker News decal on their cars, led from start to finish in a caution-free race to go to victory lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Owen Mahar in the no. 66 and the no. 87 of Danny Chisholm swapped second and third a few times, before it finished Mahar then Chisholm as top three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfield\u2019s Gage Gilby crossed the line in fourth and Josh Langille was fifth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strictly Hydraulics Legends (INEX Qualifier 50 laps)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u2013 03 Colton Noble<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 \u2013 &nbsp;66 Owen Mahar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 \u2013 87 Danny Chisholm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 \u2013 25 Gage Gilby<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 \u2013 &nbsp;18 Josh Langille<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat 1 \u2013 18 Josh Langille<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat 2 \u2013 03 Colton Noble<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Pat Healey got to wave the green flag for the INEX 50 qualifier.
