HALIFAX:<\/strong> Beginning July 11, HRM said an anti-sexual harassment campaign has been launched by Halifax Transit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a passenger education campaign, a release from the municipality said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The campaign\u2019s core message is that sexual harassment and unwanted sexual behaviors will not be tolerated on Halifax Transit, with a goal to make transit a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n The campaign was designed in collaboration with local community groups, the municipality\u2019s Office of Diversity & Inclusion, and included a jurisdictional scan of similar anti-sexual harassment campaigns by other transit agencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is also based on what the municipality heard from passengers through a Talk Transit safety survey, from Operators via their direct feedback, from resident reports to the 311 Contact Centre, and through social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”72″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Anti-Sexual Harassment campaign is the fourth Transit Code public campaign. Previous Transit Code campaigns included the Transit Code 8 Principles, the Anti-Racism campaign, and the Anti-Littering campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
