{"id":30868,"date":"2022-08-23T22:41:02","date_gmt":"2022-08-24T01:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=30868"},"modified":"2022-08-23T22:41:02","modified_gmt":"2022-08-24T01:41:02","slug":"six-local-women-soccer-players-help-n-s-to-canada-games-bronze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=30868","title":{"rendered":"Six local women soccer players help N.S. to Canada Games bronze"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;95&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NIAGARA, ONT.:<\/strong> Six local women\u2019s soccer players returned home Aug. 22 from the Canada Games with extra luggage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Team Nova Scotia defeated Alberta 1-0 behind strong goaltending by Ellie Lancaster of Fall River and the lone goal from the feet of Olivia Jack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bluenosers lost to Ontario, the eventual gold medallists, in one of two semifinals 4-0 on Aug. 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;84&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides Lancaster, other locals on the bronze-medal winning women\u2019s team were: Emma Crowe of Fall River; Grace Hannaford of Elmsdale; Jamie Provo of Lower Sackville; Mya Archibald of Fall River; and Sierra Gallant of Fall River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/B22FEDEA-D306-49C2-BBD2-763459D65F18-1024x775.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30869\"\/><figcaption>(Len Wagg\/Communications N.S.
