CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI:<\/strong> With week one of the 2023 Canada Winter Games wrapping up in PEI, and week two athletes beginning their journey to the Island, here\u2019s a quick look at week one athletes for our area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We had six athletes representing the province from Waverley\/Fall River-Beaver Bank and East Hants with Team Nova Scotia at the Canada Games week one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”84″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”111″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n RINGETTE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With the girls ringette team, the area had four players on the club. There were seven from Nova Central Ringette as well on the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The players were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jillian Marks, Beaver Bank<\/p>\n\n\n\n Renae Boutilier, Beaver Bank<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lauren Arnold, Windsor Junction<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maya MacDonald, Fall River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Arnold was co-flag bearer for N.S. at the opening ceremonies at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown to kick off the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The team was winless in four games but put in some great battles against stronger opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”194″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”8″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moguls female<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Renee Gauthier of Windsor Junction brought home a 16th place finish after her two runs at the female moguls event at Crabbe Mountain in N.B. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Boys hockey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Drew Allison of Fall River<\/p>\n\n\n\n Connor Foston of Beaver Bank<\/p>\n\n\n\n The two were the lone locals donning the Bluenose colours in boys hockey, with N.S. playing their games in Summerside and Charlottetown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nova Scotia finishes seventh of the teams at the Games.
