From a release<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n HALIFAX<\/strong> \u2014 The Capital Plan released March 14 by the Houston government lacks details and fails to address the needs of families and seniors who can\u2019t afford a place to live, say the N.S. NDP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe first thing you notice with this Capital Plan is that there\u2019s no new investment in building public or non-profit housing,\u201d said NDP Finance Spokeswoman Lisa Lachance in a release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have thousands of families who are waiting to get help finding a place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Houston government\u2019s reliance on private developers will not solve the housing crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”194″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”7″] <\/p>\n\n\n\n While much needed funding has been announced for hospital and medical infrastructure across the province there are more than 137,000 Nova Scotians waiting for primary care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have a crisis in primary care in Nova Scotia and we\u2019re seeing other provinces commit to investments to address this overwhelming need,\u201d said Lachance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHere, there’s no indication the Houston government is planning to fix this by investing in primary care to the scale that is needed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lachance said the upcoming Houston budget must address the growing primary care crisis and the need for truly affordable housing options.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”169″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”92″]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [adrotate banner=”192″] [adrotate banner=”127″] From a release HALIFAX \u2014 The Capital Plan released March 14 by the Houston government lacks details and fails to address the needs of families and seniors who can\u2019t afford a place to live, say the N.S.
