{"id":35403,"date":"2023-04-10T13:32:21","date_gmt":"2023-04-10T16:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=35403"},"modified":"2023-04-10T13:32:21","modified_gmt":"2023-04-10T16:32:21","slug":"school-support-staff-in-n-s-could-strike-april-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=35403","title":{"rendered":"School support staff in N.S. could strike April 21"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;169&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;93&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HALIFAX:<\/strong> CUPE\u2019s Nova Scotia School Board Council of Unions (NSSBCU) and the central bargaining committee representing Nova Scotia\u2019s Regional Centres for Education and the CSAP will be in a legal strike\/lock-out position as of 12:01 am, April 21, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The parties received the final reports from conciliation officers recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur 5400+ members across the province need a deal that lifts them out of poverty,\u201d said NSSBCU chair Chris Melanson. \u201cOur members are frustrated because the employers are not taking our reasonable position seriously.
